As The Crow Flies – Caw #2

I just flew to England
Great Britain some say
The United Kingdom
Or just the U.K.

Did concerts in Croughton
A wonderful place
And in old Alconbury
At a big Air Force base

A street in Oxford

A street in Oxford

They do not use dollars
But Pounds for their cash
To buy fish and chips
And bangers and mash

The school that’s in Croughton
Is really quite small
With 51 students
And 6 teachers, that’s all

I did do an evening
Concert for them
With a fairly nice turnout
Of two hundred and ten

Camera Dome at Oxford University

The last day in England
I have travelled around
And spent the day walking
Round old Oxford Town

So cheerio Betsy
And Every new friend
Liz, Bruce and Joan
My thank you I send

I love British Cricket
And Football with feet
And how they all drive
On the left of the street

As The Crow Flies – Caw #1

By Dan Crow

I spent last October
In New Mexico
Performing my “Reading,
Writing and Rhythm” show

Las Cruces is the name
Of the town that I did
And it once was the home
Of Billy The Kid

This part of New Mexico
Is famous for chile
It has green ones and red ones
And of course there’s young Billy

Las Cruces is close
To El Paso, Texas
And I give that region
My O’s and my X’s

One of the schools
I did was all right
Daytime assemblies
And a Crow Movie night

The concert I did
Attracted much notice
Then they showed
“The Adventures Milo and Otis”

Each child attending
Got to sing, laugh and hollar
Pizza and popcorn
And fun for a dollar

300 people
At one dollar each
It raises some money
For student and teach

I’ve tried to write blogs
In prose loose and terse
But I finally decided
To do it in verse
